HOW TO MAKE OUR ROBE |
MASURE YOUR SIZE![]() ![]() You can use the value (your feet - 1 foot) instead of |. Measuring your best fit shirt is good if you are difficult to measure yourself. |
MAKE A PAPER PATTERN Make your pattern from newspaper or something. This unit is cm. (centimeter). Sorry, I don't have feet-ruler. 1 centimeter is about 0.4 inch. See these photos for to trace curves. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
GUESS HOW LONG YOU NEED Arrange the paper pattern with a margin and take its length. I think it becomes 180 inches or so. |
GET CLOTH Buy black cloth and thread. It's not prudent to buy at Madam Malkin's because she can be curious about what you try to make. Using some Muggle shop is better for your safety. The cotton broadcloth is easy to sew, but it is wrinkly and appearance is not good enough. Although synthetic fiber will be stylish , sewing is difficult. Velvet is comparatively easy to sew and is very beautiful, but expensive. Don't choose only at a price. Choose the thing suitable for your skill for good result. (There is the Black Silk that made from the black silkworm's thread at the store in Knockturn Alley. The robe made from this cloth that harbors dark power is the best but naturally we should refrain from useing a material higher-class than Master) |
CUT CLOTH![]() Put patterns on cloth and cut it. Leave a margin of 1 - 3 centimeters to sew up. Mark the points.and.. Get a bias tape whose width is 1.5 inches from the surplus scrap. Length is enough if there are 4 inches. Before beginning to make, check if there is not any watch of the Ministry of Magic. ![]() |
BODY Colored side is the right face of cloth. (2) Sew straight on green line. (4) Sew zigzag the edge. ![]() |
SLEEVE (4) Roll the edge. (6) Turn inside out. ![]() ![]() |
PUT SLEEVES ON BODY (1) Pin the mark.and., point to point. (2) Sew with pretty good tension so that cloth may not be slacked. This part is the most difficult! Don't mind, even if it become a bit wrinkly. ![]() Turn inside out when both parts are finished. ![]() |
TRY ON Try on the robe to see if it fit you. (Take care so that the Dark Mark on your forearm cannot be seen!) ![]() |
HOOD (6) Hand sewing. And gather its centre. (9) Pull out the hand-sew thread. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
NECK Cut bias tape good length, and clip the neck. (4) Sew strongly so that the hood cannot come off. ![]() |
HEM![]() |
FINISHED! Tie your waist with the cloth which remained or a black string. Well, how do you like yours? Not bad? I hope you can feel more pleasure when Master summons you! ![]() |
